I qualified as a Solicitor in 2013 and practised in Kent as a commercial litigator until 2023 when I decided to use my experience to set up on my own, specialising in SEND (special educational needs and disabilities) law.

Prior to qualifying, I gained my legal qualifications at the University of Kent (Law LLB) and Nottingham Trent University (Legal Practice Course). I then worked at a top 10 law firm in Switzerland and in a top 40 UK law firm in London, gaining invaluable legal experience, before undertaking my training contract and qualifying in 2013 in a leading Kent law firm.

My responsibilities as a commercial litigator included handling a range of high value, complex commercial disputes; dealing with negotiations on behalf of both claimant and defendant clients on a daily basis and litigating in court. I was proactive in trying to settle matters outside of court, where possible, but was confident in litigating in court when all other avenues had been exhausted.

I live in Sevenoaks, Kent, and at home I am a wife and a mother to three wonderful children. I was thrown into the SEND world when my eldest son was diagnosed with ASD at age 3. Both my sons have SEND, my eldest is non verbal and attends a specialist school, while my youngest attends mainstream school with additional support in place, as detailed in his Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). I will be forever grateful for my legal background, which has given me the ability to fight the broken SEND system for the education my sons need and deserve. My heart breaks for the many children with SEND across the country and their families who are struggling every day due to the lack of support in place for them.

SEND children are too frequently treated unlawfully in regards to their educational rights and in 2023 I decided to do something about it. I set up on my own as a freelance solicitor, specialising entirely in SEND law. The legal services I offer are fully insured and my practice is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.

Setting up on my own has not only given me the flexibility I need in order to work around caring for my children, but has enabled me to make legal advice and representation more affordable and accessible. I work from home and undertake most of my meetings online, meaning I can represent families anywhere in the country. My personal experience and understanding of the current crisis in SEND law, drives my passion and commitment to work tirelessly for families to get the best outcome for their children.
